During the conversation, Jesus tells Nicodemus that no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born again. Jesus describes this new birth as a water and spirit birth.

It is often interpreted as a reference to baptism, a rite of initiation into a religious community. As a symbol of spiritual cleansing, it represents the washing away of past sins and the beginning of a new life with Christ.

Having been born of both water and spirit, what about the spirit part? Do you know what that means?

Early Christians believed that the lamb represents Jesus as a symbol of purity, innocence, and sacrifice. According to Christian tradition, this iconic figure represents Jesus’ sacrifice for humanity’s sins, a sacrifice that is central to the Christian faith.

In the New Testament, John the Baptist refers to Jesus as the “Lamb of God.” It is through his sacrifice that Jesus redeems the people from their sins. In religious art and architecture, the lamb has been used to depict Jesus’ gentleness and meekness throughout history.

Nicodemus, who knows little about Jesus, hears the amazing truth from Jesus. There is no way to see the kingdom of God unless you are born Once more. Nicodemus misunderstands the Lord’s teaching that in order to experience the Messiah era, which is the kingdom of God, we must be born again.

The meaning of being born from above is explained by Jesus. Water and the Holy Spirit are part of what it means to be born from above. Read Ezekiel 36:25-27 in order to understand this.

I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.

According to Enzkiel, Israel will appear with water and the Holy Spirit in the future. It reminds me of the way Ezkiel expressed himself when the Lord spoke to him. Israel will be born through the Holy Spirit through Jesus. According to John’s introduction to Chapter 1, this is what he said. The only people who will live a blessed life in a new temple will be those born from above by the Holy Spirit. In other words, the Holy Spirit and water are born from above. As a descendant of Abraham, it is not a blessing, but only a blessing that can be enjoyed from above.

Spiritual awakening, connection to the divine, and inner transformation are all aspects of being born of the spirit. The experience is considered a gift from God, a supernatural experience that can only be received through faith.
